- The title means Rusty has "Butt Trouble" because his butt is laying eggs.
- This episode marks the final episode in the series where Charles Napier voices the Sheriff normally, his voice is later replaced by Bobby Ellerbee starting with the next episode "Butt Trouble." Though, Charles Napier does return to voice the original Sheriff in the second episode of the second season "Double Truckin' the Tricky Two", but was killed by a clone of himself and that clone becomes the current Sheriff.
- The birthday cake we see in this episode on the table, tied with balloons, a blue cup sitting next to it, a cake knife and slice of cake on the plate, has the words "Happy Birthday" on a yellow sign, and below a small sign taped below it saying the words "Deer."
- The words displayed on the birthday cake's icing are written in cursive.
- Obviously, Early did force Rusty to kill the squirrel the creature that was going to eat a piece of that birthday cake with his shotgun, before accidently injuring Granny with it.
- The words displayed on the birthday cake's icing are written in cursive.
- When the first offspring of Rusty hatched out of the egg, he is a likeness to Early's original voice actor Unknown Hinson.
- When the Baby Vampire Squids are wrecking havoc in the town of Dougal County, people can be heard screaming, but oddly no people appear, or dead bodies are shown, though some blood is visible.
